Dear Author please don't...
give me any more characters who base their whole opinion of the opposite sex on a less than wonderful relationship. In fact, I find characters incredibly judgmental and self-absorbed when they form opinions on the opposite sex with so little basis.
Our h avoided relationships because she'd only ever been with men who either wanted to know if Earth Girls were Easy or saw her as a step on the career ladder (daddy was guvner). All two of them. Yeah that's right; she'd had relationships with two whole men. She's almost 30. Beyond that…the h was the most self-absorbed…IDIOT…I've run across in a while.
Ok, so some time traveler appears in mom and dad's living room, telling of doom and gloom in the future. Little Ms Know-it-all immediately began planning to sneak off, go back in time, and *fix* things. WHAT?!?!?! So she (and a history professor who insists on tagging along) sneak off, go back in time, test all sorts of hair to find the culprit (well, SHE does; he's convinced messing with the past is a very bad idea). They bounce around a few times, completely oblivious to the possibility that their even being there might be causing problems. Then, after all this, they go back, where… she's all "what is my life against millions?" The whole noble martyr sacrifice except… Stupid cow apparently didn't think that one through - that takes out mommy dearest as well. And what about all *other* descendants? They don't count?
The H had his own issues but I could tolerate him.
