Highlander for the Holidays - Janet Chapman Story - good. Series is getting more and more convoluted. First there were 5 men and a wizard - Pendaar. Then there were 5 men, Pendaar, and an owl. Later there were 5 men, Pendaar, an owl, a wolf... and was one of those 5 men possessing powers himself?? Then there were 5 men, Pendaar, an owl... and the baby all grown up who appeared to be able to circumvent Pendaar...and bring back a panther cub.

Then there were 5 men, Pendaar, the panther, the grown up kid... and the prophesied replacement for Pendaar, plus a new wizard and a stranger who turned out to be the grandson of the new wizard and the prophesied replacement, only the two hadn't gotten around to creating his mom yet. Oh. And the panther who actually was the wizard's brother reborn as a critter but really wanting to be human. Confused yet? I'm not through.

Then there was the 5 men, the now neutered Pendaar (not really; his powers transferred to the replacement), the no-longer panther dude, the replacement and her wizard hubby, a dragon who was really another dude in disguise reluctantly. Oh, and the shaman in denial.

Then there were 5 men, the grown up kid, the replacement and her spouse, their firstborn, the shaman, the firstborn as a teenager, and the 5 men's ancestor.

And now, there are the 5 men, the grown up kid, the replacement and her spouse, their firstborn, the shaman, the ancestor, and the offspring of the one of the 5 men who may or may not have possessed powers himself - this one is apparently part of the mountain.

Yeah.... maybe the author should quit before discovering accidentally she really has created the grandfather paradox here. Way too many people with time traveling ability and/or magic powers cropping up. And I didn't even mention the h in book 2... I think... who has the magical ability to heal.
