Well... other than the distraction of the empty security sleeve, it turns out pretty good. We run into "Robert" again and, central to this particular story, find out what happens when shifters of divergent species mate. The H, as it turns out, is a chimera - the result of such a mating. Huh. I was under the impression that a chimera was the result of one fertilized egg absorbing another in the womb. This seems like it should be called a "hybrid". Guess as an identifying name, that wasn't mysterious and cool enough. But that and the sleeve are essentially fluff. The meat of the story - the growing relationship between H/h and the adventure along the way - is good. The couple are likable and most of the supporting cast as well.
