V. entertaining when they figure out they've been spying for different departments who apparently didn't talk to each other (or rather, the head of one made a realization and contacted the other right near the end).

I wanted to pat Ethan on the head at various times. It's just that sometimes it was my hand and sometimes it was my iron skillet. Jane was relatively uncomplicated - it wasn't until towards the end that you realize she was anything other than an heiress in search of a husband. It is rather interesting though to read a book that's mostly from the H's POV.
