Another book with ridiculous characters. I've come to the conclusion I like my shifters to be ridiculous. Those who are all grim and borderline psychopathic just don't do much for me.
So our H goes for a haircut, only his usual barber is on the other side of the country, and his granddaughter manages to goad the H into letting her give him a trim. His baiting her leads to a slip of the scissors, which leads to her running off, which leads to his plotting revenge, which leads to his showing up the next day to get her to fix it, which leads to...at some point...his realizing she's his mate.
The flaw in the whole thing is that her ex is also (unbeknownst to her) a shifter, and a slightly deranged one at that. Of course, his persistence leads to his demise, and she finally accepts that this rabbit hole appears to be real.
