Finished in the wee hours this AM. Also slightly puzzled as I thought I'd made note of starting this one.
I'm going to have to start making an effort to read these in some semblance of order. Most of the time, it doesn't bother me, but I usually don't read them so close together either. This one came before The Fifth Elephant, which I read a few weeks ago, so I spent a bit of time getting to know characters I'd already met, if you know what I mean.
Ah well... there were several plots afoot, and they all intersected, with the result that the several investigations ended at the same place - the candlestick maker. Along the way, Nobby almost became a toff (to his horror), Angua befriended a dwarf who was female, and who got very curious about fashion, someone tried to incapacitate the Patrician (and were rather less successful than he led them to believe), and Vimes finally connected the dots.
There were no chapter breaks.
