Dragon Fall - Katie MacAlister

The bizarre dancing around a curse was strange, weird, and strangely amusing. I think there might have been a "shit" in here once. Still rather explicit sex so can't be called a clean romance by any standards.

Am pleased to note, after looking at the next book, that the author seems to have decided to drop the multiple books per couple bit. That was seriously annoying. Of course, she also set this a good two years after the last book (because she took time off for other things I guess and let the timeline proceed accordingly), causing me a bit of confusion because...things have happened since then. I kept wondering to myself what I was missing.

Our h goes to a GothFaire in Sweden with some guy who...isn't what he seems. He gifts her with a magic ring, gets in a tussle, appears to be dead, she calls for help, and...he's there, alive. Of course, her sister decides she's lost it and has her locked away...or does she - decide she's nuts, that is. Two years later, she runs into Jim (who has amnesia or a mind wipe), and, later, Kostya who was either dead or pretty close to it. At this point, stuff begins happening.

The poor h is grappling with a lot of issues, not least of which is due to having been in the loony bin for 2 years. This, coupled with the world she finds herself thrust in, with the realization that no; she's not nuts, makes for a bit of angst that possibly isn't used much. The H has his own issues, due to a certain niyad's being a twit. Huh; might be another reason why he doesn't like water much.

By the end of the book, he's accepted that she's his mate (of course she is), problems have been unleashed on the world, and...well, the big issue with the dragons still isn't solved.
