The Pirate Lord - Sabrina Jeffries Lessee... where to start? How about the dim bulb of a heroine who went incognito on a ship of female convicts bound for New South Wales? Orrr... the last time I read of a pirate that amiable towards women, it was Pirate by Fabio. Yeaaahhhhh.... Improbability factor quite high with this book.

Ironically, if the setting had been more believable - i.e. not a self-righteous dingbat heroine putting herself in harm's way and not a pirate who was one of those new-fangled "kinder, gentler" pirates - the book would have been more enjoyable (say, the whole of the story taking place in civilization rather than an uncharted island or a pirate ship).
