Boy, our author tried v. hard to deliberately confuse the reader.After I finally got past my confusion, I found the "author notes" segments a bit distracting. Skimming or outright skipping them made the story flow, but then I do get that the purpose of the segments was to convey that this was an older work being "messed with".
Think I prefer the screen adaptation though.
