Gallant Waif (Harlequin Historical, #557) - Anne Gracie To the person who thought this a good challenge book: Curse you! That box of kleenex next to my computer is there because I had a cold; not to deal with leaky eyes.

Many authors try for spunky and only succeed at annoying. The author managed to successfully pull off an intelligent h with a spine and sense of humor.

The H... was a bit dense, but I guess one can contribute that to testosterone poisoning.

I did have one thought: why would an otherwise intelligent h remain in England when faced with such censure? Yeah; I get that she was impoverished but she was able to get back to England.

Also, when did the spelling of skeptical change? It was spelled sceptical all through the book (which drove me bats)
