Of Mt Doom and dead trees
Much of Mt Doom is inaccessible at the moment, which is why just about everything I've read in recent months has either been a new release or self published something or other. That's the downside of having much of your library in physical form - have an emergency home repair come up and access is the last thing on your mind. Which brings me to the dilemma of discovering a bunch of books listed here were listed as ebooks. What? I had the delightful job of going through my shelf and changing editions. The funny thing is, I didn't realize I'd ever put them in the official Mt Doom listing in the first place. For whatever reason, I didn't always do that with EC type books.
Which brings up a puzzling bit - why are some books not showing a paperback edition or even that there is more than one edition? And yet, sometimes you can find them doing a title search, so the edition has been added, but nobody seems to have made an effort to associate it. Very odd...and aggravating. Almost as aggravating as a 3 year old book not actually being in the database at all.
Ah well; I think everything is fixed. Now if I could just figure out why my shelf here has a different number of books than the one on goodreads. May have to just give in and compare listings.
